Tansley Primary School

Learn, Lead, Achieve, Together We Succeed

Parent Views

At Tansley Primary School we believe in listening to all our stakeholders. Parents are a crucial part of a child's education and the wider success of our school. There are a number of ways to let us know your thoughts about our school:

Daily Contact

The Head Teacher is available at the school gate most mornings welcoming the children in to school. At the end of the school day the teachers say goodbye to the children outside their classrooms in the school playground. This is a good opportunity to quickly mention something to Mrs Barker or your child's class teacher relating to your child.

Make an appointment

Sometimes you may wish to discuss an issue in more depth and we would ask you to either talk directly to your child's class teacher to arrange an appointment or contact the school office who will be more than happy to arrange a suitable time to come in.

Parent Surveys

We carry out general surveys to gauge parental opinion on the broader aspects of our school and assimilate these views in to our school development plan.  To see our latest questionnaire please go to the parental questionnaire tab.

December 2021

In December 2021, we took responses to our Parental Questionnaire.  The results and how school has responded to each question can be found below.

The feedback we have received about almost every aspect of the school has been extremely positive with the vast majority of questions receiving 80% agreement to the statements about school. This reflects the hard work of all the staff and the excellent support we get form our parental community.

In October 2021, families were asked the following question.

We would like to know what you love about Tansley Primary School?

These are the responses school received from 18 families.

  • Friendly school, good teachers.
  • Small community feel.
  • Small community, Y6 extra support and separate class, outside space, friendly staff.
  • What's not to like?!
  • Large outdoor space, friendly teachers (especially Mrs Barker knowing our son had been ill and coming to speak with us on his first day). We like that our Reception son brings a different reading book home almost every day, so he doesn’t get bored of them.
  • Teachers always willing to discuss child's needs and putting my mind at ease!
  • Friendliness, how the children of different ages mix together, involvement in the community.
  • Our child has always loved coming to school. She has always felt wanted and welcomed. She has established friendship and is happy in the school. Mrs Pearson has always been an approachable figure within the school community.
  • Nice small friendly school.
  • Friendly community.
  • The caring nature of the school.
  • The feeling of community, lovely teachers and great outdoor space.
