On 1st July 2015 Tansley Primary School gained our Sun Safety Schools Status! All the children in the school have been introduced to George the Sun Safe Superstar and are working on becoming Sun Safe Superstars themselves!
They have been taught the importance of the five S's!
Slip on a t-shit,
Slop on some sun cream,
Slap on a hat
Please make sure your child has a wide brimmed sun hat in school every day and you have signed the form saying that your child can apply the sun cream available in school. Here is Archie in Oaks being a Sun Safe Superstar!!
We held a competition to design a Sun Safety t-shirt. The winners were announced on 1st July by Jo Lowton-Mayo a Skin Specialist from Derby City Hospital who came to lead an assembly on Sun Safety. Well done to Sam Hudson in EYFS and Mia Bailey in Y5!
