At 'Play, Stay and Learn' we set up a variety of different activities for your child to explore in a similar way to our EYFS classroom. Each session we provide some of the areas below:
We also do a cooking activity each session. Our sessions help to focus that seemingly endless energy that children have, and your child will practice their social skills through sharing tools and taking turns. At the end of the session we have singing time, where the children can play some percussion instruments and chose their favourite nursery rhymes to sing together.
Parents/carers are provided with hot drinks, also cold drinks and a snack for your child. Today we had some delicious flapjacks!
We also set up various messy play areas in tuff spots around the room (e.g. coloured cooked spaghetti, a rice tray with scoops, porridge oats or cornflour gloopy mix). Messy Play helps babies and toddlers explore their developing senses and their blossoming creativity in a fun and safe environment. Attending one of our 'Play, Stay and Learn' sessions is a great way for your child to explore different materials and textures, learn about cause and effect and to develop motor and language skills. Creative play is an essential part of a child’s learning process, assisting in the understanding of Science and Maths and well as developing talent in Arts and Crafts. We advise you wear old clothes although we do also provide aprons.
