Mr Richard Lewin

My wife Emma grew up in Tansley and her family have lived here for generations. We decided to move back to the village seven years ago so our children could grow up as part of a small community in beautiful surroundings. I have three children, Alex who is studying at Lincoln University, Lydia and Hettie who are both at Tansley Primary School. I am self employed working in vehicle communication and stood for school governor to help support the school.

Mr John Rigarlsford

“I am a Microbiologist and worked for over 38 years for a major industrial Company, advising on good hygiene practice both in the UK and internationally. In addition, I frequently gave, and still give, presentations at Universities and numerous symposia; and I represent the UK on a European Standards Committee. I took early retirement in 2003 to set up a Limited Company offering hygiene consultancy. My wife and I moved to Tansley in 1999 and have taken active roles in village activities. I became Churchwarden in 2004 and a School Governor of Tansley School in 2006.”

Mrs Christine Middleton

I moved to Tansley from Leicester in 2012. I am really enjoying both living in the village and having access to such lovely countryside. I have spent most of my life working in health and social care as a social worker and then as a team manager. Prior to my retirement in 2012 I have been working in the voluntary sector for four years. I have been a governor at Tansley Primary school since 2012, initially as a local authority governor and now as a co-opted governor. I recognise the importance of a successful primary school in the village and I am committed to the aims and values of Tansley Primary School.

Mr Dave Hill
I grew up in Tansley, out of the village near the garden centre, and attended our school until I was eleven years old. Having moved away from the area to start my working life, I run my own business within the pharmaceutical industry, I returned to Tansley in 2010 with my wife, Jo and three children. Charlotte and Evelyn both attend the school and Finley was part of the school before he went to Secondary school. I became a governor at the start of the 2011 academic year as I wanted to try and make a difference and give something back to the school which gave me so much.

Associate Governor (appointed by Governing Body)

David Wilding

I moved to Tansley in 2013 with my family and work in the automotive industry. One of my daughters attends the school, Darcy, the other will follow in her footsteps when she reaches school age. I recently became a governor as I believe in helping the school to be successful and building a strong community in Tansley.

Local Education Authority Governor (appointed by the Governing Body)

Angela Colmar

I have lived in the village for 21 years and my 3 (grown up) children all went to the village school and had a brilliant start to their education. During my career I have worked as a speech therapist, special needs teacher, Early years teacher and finally as a Headteacher. I currently work for the Local Authority School Improvement Team as an adviser. I feel very fortunate to live in such a strong community with a village school at the heart. As a governor I would like to support the school to continue to  provide high quality inclusive education for the children of Tansley and local areas.

Miss Tracey Holmes (Headteacher)

I have been the Headteacher of Tansley Primary School since January 2007. During my time here I have seen many children learn and grow throughout their primary years and I am very proud of what they have all individually have achieved. I strive to ensure that every child reaches their potential through a wide range of learning experiences. It is fantastic to have all the stakeholders working and moving forward together to be the best we can be.

Clerk to the Governing Body (appointed by the Governing Body)

Mrs Catherine Wheatcroft

“I have been Clerk to the Governing Body for eight years at Tansley Primary and really enjoy my role. It has broadened my knowledge of how schools educate our children and the variety of activities and curriculum provided. I clerk for the governing bodies of several schools in the area. I have lived in Derbyshire for 12 years and take great advantage of the wonderful countryside through lots of running, horse riding, cycling and tending to my allotment.”
